A place for riddles, word games and other things worth puzzling over—without ads shouting from the edges or a streak demanding your loyalty.
Back to the puzzle
Some games ask you to solve a problem. Others ask you to watch an ad, claim a reward, protect a streak and remember which of their five currencies buys a hint. Somewhere along the way, the actual puzzle gets lost.
Puzzle Meadow puts it back in the middle. The games here should have clear rules, thoughtful difficulty and an interface that knows when to get out of the way. You open one because you feel like puzzling. You close it when you’re done. Nothing sulks.
Where it started
The Meadow began with StillWords, a game that pairs riddles with word search. First work out the answer; then find it hidden among the letters. Two small problems, one satisfying click.
StillWords was created by Zenworks Studio for iPhone. No advertising, no timers and no leaderboard hovering over your shoulder. More puzzles may grow here, but they’ll have to earn their spot.
Behind the Meadow
Puzzle Meadow is made by Zenworks Studio, the independent studio behind StillWords. We like puzzle ideas that can be explained plainly, played without pressure and remembered after the screen goes dark.
